Seeking and searching I have found my own home.

When the Saint is merciful, compassionate becomes the Master of the Universe.

If I meditate on the merciful Master, the Treasure of compassion,

And sing forever the praise of the World-Lord.

I have earned the wealth of God's Name which is beyond reckoning.

By this act thy sins shall be washed off.

By remembering the pervading Lord, Death's myrmidon shall not punish thee;

The couriers of the Righteous Judge shall not spy thee;
Курьеры Справедливого Судьи не будут за тобой следить;
And the mammon's intoxication shall not fascinate thee, even in the least. |2|
И опьянение мамоной совсем не будет тебя прельщать.
Thou thyself shalt be saves and through thee shall be saved the world,
Ты сам спасёшься, и через тебя будет спасён мир,
If thou repeat the Name of the only one omnipresent Lord.
Если ты будешь повторять Имя единственного, вездесущего Господа.
Practise Name's meditation thyself and instruct others;
Ты сам медитируй на Имя и давай инструкции другим;
Instil God's Name unto thy heart. |3|
По капельке вливай в своё сердце Имя Божие.
On whose brow the receipt of this treasure is recorded,

That person ponders on the Lord.

The whole day sing the praises of the Lord God.

The false thing - that he deems as true.

The heart is not, in the least, attached to what is ever True. |2|

He goes crookedly by the wrong way,

And leaving the straight way, he weaves backwards. |3|

God is the Lord and Master of both worlds.

In the Dark Age husband and wife have come together through destiny.

By burning thyself, the loved Lord is not obtained.

Imitating and through mind's obstinacy, she gets burnt up.

She obtains not the company of her Spouse, and is made to wander through many existences. |2|

She, who possess goodness and self-restraint, and submits to her Lord's order,

That woman suffers not anguish at the hands of Death's couriers. |3|

Says Nanak, she who looks upon the Supreme Lord as her Spouse,

The stores diminish not and are ever on the increase. |3|

Do not say that anyone is good or bad.

The sons, wife and brothers are not thine.

Thine are not the dear friends, father and mother. |2|

The fine horses and beauteous elephants are not of any avail to thee.

The landlord ever contends for his land.

He has to abandon it and depart, but his desire is not extinguished. |2|

Perfect is the solace and perfect the contentment.

Treading on God's way, the sinners become pure.

In the Society of Saints one's ego is shed,

By Saints supreme pleasure the five evil passions are subdued

And one irrigates his mind with the Nectarien Name. |3|

In the Saadh Sangat, the treasure of the Name is obtained.

In the Saadh Sangat, all one's works are brought to fruition. |2|

Through God's meditation one's life is approved.
Благодаря Божьей медитации наша жизнь одобряется.

Those whose minds are imbued with the one Lord,
Те, чьи души пропитаны единственным Господом,
Forget to feel jealous of others. |1|
Забывают чувство зависти к другим.
They see none other than the Lord of the Universe.
Они не видят никого другого кроме Господа Вселенной.
The Creator is the Doer and Prompter of deeds. |1| «Pause»
Творец является Выполняющим поступков и их Суфлёром. «Пауза»
Who heartily performs God's service and with his mouth utters God's Name,
Тот, кто сердечно выполняет Божью службу и кто своим ртом произносит Имя Божие,
That man here and hereafter, nowhere wavers. |2|
Такой человек и здесь и в потустороннем мире – нигде не трепещит.
He, who possesses God's wealth, is the true banker.
Тот, кто имеет Божье богатство, является истинным банкиром.
The perfect Guru has established his credit. |3|
Совершенный Гуру учредил его кредит.
The life bestowing Lord God, the King, meets him.
Дарующий жизни, Господь Бог – Король, его встречает.
Says Nanak, like this he attains to the supreme status. |4|48|117|

The Name is the support of Saints' life.
Имя является поддержкой жизни Святого.
The Name is his wealth, and the Name his business. |1|
Имя – это его богатство, и Имя – его бизнес.
By the Name, Lord's slave procures greatness and glory.
Посредством Имени, раб Господа получает величие и славу.
He alone obtains them, unto whom the Lord Himself mercifully gives. |1| «Pause»
Только тот это обретает, кому Господь Сам милосердно даёт. «Пауза»
The Name is the devotee's abode of peace.
Имя является жилищем покоя для того, кто Ему предан.
The devotee, who is imbued with the Name, is approved. |2|
Преданный, окрашенный Именем, становится одобренным.
The Name of the Lord is the support of His humble servants.
Имя Господа является поддержкой Его скромных слуг.
With each and every breath they remember the Name. |3|
С каждым вздохом и выдохом они помнят Имя.
Says Nanak, whose destiny is perfect,
Говорит Нанак: «Тот, кто имеет идеальную судьбу,
His soul remains attached with His Name. |4|49|118|

By Saints' favour I have meditated on God's Name.
По благосклонности Святого я медитировал на Имя Божие.
Since then my wandering mind has been sated. |1|
С тех пор мой скитающийся разум насытился.
Abode of peace I have obtained by singing God's praises.
Славославя Бога, я обрёл жилище покоя.
My troubles have ceased, and demon is destroyed. |1| «Pause»
Мои тревоги ушли, и демон уничтожен. «Пауза»
Reflect upon the Lotus Feet of the fortunate Lord.
Размышляй о Лотусовых Ногах счастливого Господа.
Through God's meditation my anxiety has ended. |2|
Благодаря Божьей медитации, мои беспокойства закончились.
I have renounced all - I am an orphan. I have come to the sanctuary of the one Lord.
Я отрёкся от всего; Я – сирота. Я пришёл в святилище единственного Господа.
Since then I have easily obtained the highest abode. |3|
С тех пор я с лёгкостью обрёл самое возвышенное жилище.
My troubles, pain and doubt have run out of my mind.
Мои беспокойства, боль и сомнения убежали из моего разума.
The Creator has acquired an abode in Nanak's mind. |4|50|119|
Творец приобрёл жилище в разуме Нанака.

With the hands I perform Lord's service, and with the tongue I sing His praises.
Своими руками я выполняю службу Господу, а своим языком я пою похвалы Ему.

Своими ногами я иду по пути Мастера.
Auspicious in the life-time wherein is obtained an opportunity to remember God.
Благоприятно то время жизни, когда мы получаем возможность помнить Бога.
By repeating the Name, the terrible ocean is crossed. |1| «Pause»
Повторяя Имя, мы можем переплыть через ужасный океан. «Пауза»
With thine eyes behold the sight of the Saints.
Своими глазами смотри на Святых.
The immortal Lord, do thou inscribe within thy mind. |2|
Бессмертного Господа, ты впиши в свой разум.
Listen to the Kirtan of His praises, at the Feet of the Holy.
В Ногах Святых, слушай Киртан Его похвалы.
Your fears of birth and death shall depart. |3|
Твой страх рождения и смерти исчезнет.
Lord's Lotus Feet, place thou in thy mind.
Лотусовые Ноги Господа, ты помести в свой разум.
Thus, this human life, so difficult to obtain, shall be redeemed. |4|51|120|
Таким образом, эта человеческая жизнь, которую так трудно обрести, будет
возмещена.

The man, upon whom the Lord shows His mercy,
Человек, к которому Господь проявляет милосердие,
Utters God's Name with his tongue. |1|
Своим языком произносит Имя Божие.
By forgetting God, superstition and sorrow overtake the mortal.
Забывая Бога, недоверие и скорбь берут вверх над смертным.
Meditating on the Name, doubt and dread flee. |1| «Pause»
Медитируя на Имя, сомнения и опасения улетают прочь. «Пауза»
Who hears God's praises and sings God's praises,
Тот, кто слышит Божьи похвалы и поёт Божьи похвалы,
Misfortune draws not near that man. |2|
Несчастья к такому человеку не подходят.
God's slave looks beauteous, when he performs His service.
Раб Бога выгдядит прекрасным, когда он выполняет Его службу.
Him, the fire of mammon touches not. |3|
До него, огонь мамоны не дотрагивается.
Within mind, body and mouth is the Name of the compassionate Lord,
У меня в разуме, теле и во рту есть Имя сострадательного Господа,
And Nanak has forsaken all other entanglements. |4|52|121|
И Нанак покинул всё остальное, в чём он был запутан.

Shed thy wit and excessive cleverness.
Выброси прочь своё остроумие и излишние ухищрения.
Seek thou the support of the perfect Guru. |1|
Да ищи же поддержку совершенного Гуру.
Thine sorrows shall depart and in peace thou shalt sing God's praises.
Твои печали уйдут, и ты, в покое, будешь петь Божьи похвалы.
By meeting the perfect Guru, love with the Lord is contracted. |1| «Pause»
Повстречав совершенного Гуру, мы начинаем любить Господа. «Пауза»
The Guru has given me the mantra of God's Name.
Гуру дал мне мантру Имени Божьего.
My worries are effaced, and gone is the anxiety. |2|
Мои беспокойства вычеркнуты, и озабоченность ушла.
Happiness has ensued on meeting the merciful Guru.
Повстречав милосердного Гуру, счастье обеспечено.
Showering His benediction, He has cut the noose of Death's minister. |3|
Поливая Своими благословениями, Он разрезал петлю министра Смерти.
Says Nanak, I have obtained the perfect Guru;
Говорит Нанак: «Я обрёл cовершенного Гуру;
Therefore mammon shall harass me no more. |4|53|122|
Поэтому мамона меня больше изводить не будет».

Гаури, 5-ый Гуру.
The perfect Guru Himself has rescued me.
Совершенный Гуру Сам меня спас.
An apostate is infested with calamity. |1|
Вероотступник заражён несчастьями.
Remember the Great Guru, O my friend.
Помни Великого Гуру, О мой друг.
Thy face shall become bright in the Lord's Court. |1| «Pause»
При Дворе Господа твоё лицо станет светлым. «Пауза»
Enshrine thou Guru's Feet within thy mind,
Ты храни Ноги Гуру в своём разуме,
And thy sorrow, enemies and calamity shall be destroyed. |2|
И твои скорбь, враги и бедствия будут уничтожены.
Guru's Word is thy comrade and succour.
Слово Гуру – это твой товарищ и помощник.
And all the sentient beings shall be kind to thee, O brother. |3|
И все чувствующие существа будут к тебе добрыми, О брат.
When the perfect Guru showered His benediction,
«Когда совершенный Гуру оросил меня Своими благословениями»,
Says Nanak, I was fully filled then. |4|54|123|
Говорит Нанак, «тогда я стал полностью наполненным».

Many dainties the mortal eats like a beast.
Смертный, как зверь, кушает множесто лакомств.
With the rope of worldly love, he is bound down like a thief. |1|
Верёвкой мирской любви он, как вор, связан.
Without the society of Saints, the body is a corpse.
Без общества Святых, тело – это труп.
One comes and goes in various lives and is destroyed by pain. |1| «Pause»
Мы приходим в разнообразных рождениях и уходим, и нас уничтожает боль. «Пауза»
Man wears beautiful robes of various kinds,
Человек носит красивую, многочисленных видов одежду,
But he is like a scare-crow in the field - to frighten away the creatures. |2|
Однако он выглядит как пугало в поле – отпугивать прочь разные существа.
All other bodies serve good many purposes,
Все остальные тела служат для многочисленных целей,
Useless is man's, who repeats not Lords Name. |3|
Бесполезно же тело того человека, который не повторяет Имя Господа.
Says Nanak, they, unto whom the Lord becomes merciful,
Говорит Нанак: «Те, к кому Господь проявляет милосердие,
Meditate on the Lord of the Universe, by meeting the Saints guild. |4|55|124|
Повстречав гильдию Святых, медитируют на Господа Вселенной».
