Ever standing up I inquire of the way to my Lord. If someone shows me the way, I would go to Him.
Всегда стоя, я осведомляюсь о пути к моему Господу. Если кто-нибудь показал бы
мне путь, то я пошёл бы к Нему.
I follow in the footsteps of those who have enjoyed my Beloved.
Я следую по следам тех, которые наслаждались моим Возлюбленным.
Them I beseech and them I entreat. I have a yearning to meet my Master. |1|
Это их я прошу и их умоляю. У меня есть острая тоска встретиться с моим
Мастером.
My fellow brother! Let someone unite me in the union of my Lord God.
Мой собрат! Пусть кто-нибудь соединит меня в союзе с моим Господом Богом.
I am a sacrifice unto my True Guru, who has shown to me the Lord Master. |1| «Pause»
Я приношу себя в жертву Истинному Гуру, который показал мне Господа Мастера.

In utter humility, I lie prostrate before the perfect True Guru.
В совершенной покорности, распростёртый, я лежу перед совершенным, Истинным
Гуру.
The Guru is the honour of the dishonoured. The great Satguru makes man applaudable.
Гуру – это честь бесчестных. Великий Сатгуру делает человека таким, что ему
аплодируют.
I ever feel hungry for praising the Guru. He unites me with the Lord God. |2|
Я всегда чувствую голод чтобы славославить Гуру. Он соединяет меня с Господом
Богом.
Everyone, the entire world and all long for the True Guru.
Все и каждый, как и весь мир желают Истинного Гуру.
Without good luck His sight cannot be had. The unfortunate sit and bewail.
Без удачи увидеть Его невозможно. Несчастные сидят и скорбят.
Whatever is the will of Lord God that does come to pass. None can erase the preordained writ. |3|
Что бы ни являлось волей Господа Бога, то и свершается. Никто не может стиреть
предопределённого указа.
God Himself is the Satguru; Himself is the Lord; and Himself unites man in His union.
Сам Бог – это Сатгуру; Он Сам – Господь; и Он Сам соединяет человека в союзе с
Собою.
Making man follow the great True Guru, the Lord mercifully blends him with Himself.
Делая так, что человек следует за великим, Истинным Гуру, Господь милостливо
сочетает его с Самим Собою.
In this world the Lord Himself is the life of the entire Universe. Like water
merging into water, O Nanak, God's slave gets absorbed in God. |4|4|68|
В этом мире Сам Господь – это жизнь всей Вселенной. Как вода сливается с водой,
О Нанак! так и Божий раб углубляется в Бога.
Sri Rag, Fourth Guru.
Шри Раг, Четвёртый Гуру.
The relish of the immortalising Name-Nectar is exquisitely fine. In what way can I obtain the Nectar to taste it?
Приправа обессмертивающего Имени-Нектара является изящно-утончённой. Каким же
образом могу я обрести Нектар, чтобы его попробовать?
Go and ask the true wives, as to how did they come to meet the Lord?
Пойди и спроси у истинных жён, как они встретились с Господом?
They are care-free and tell not. I repeatedly rub and wash their feet. |1|
Они – беззаботны, и не отвечают. Я повторно растираю и мою им ноги.
O brother! Meet Guru, the Friend, and heartily dwell upon God's merits.
О брат! Встреть Гуру – Друга, и сердечно провозглашай достоинства Бога.
Your Friend is the True Being, Guru, who beats out and drives away the pangs of pride. |1| «Pause»
Твой Друг – это Истинная Персона, это Гуру, который выбивает и изгоняет из тебя
муки гордости. «Пауза»
The Guru-wards enjoy the Nuptial-love, and their hearts are moved with compassion.
Подопечные Гуру наслаждаются Брачной любовью, и их сердца побуждаются
состраданием.
The Word of the True Guru is the Emerald. He, who accepts it, tastes God's elixir.
Слово Истинного Гуру – это Изумруд. Тот, кто принимает его, пробует Божий
эликсир.
They, who by Guru's love, partake of Lord's ambrosia are known to be great and exceedingly fortunate. |2|
О тех, которые благодаря любви Гуру пьют амброзию Господа, известно, что они –
великие и чрезвычайно удачливые.
This elixir of God is contained in forest, straw and the whole Universe, but the unfortunate taste it not.
Этот эликсир Бога содержится в лесу, в соломе и во всей Вселенной, однако
несчастные не могут его попробовать.
Without the True Guru it is not obtained. The apostate remain bewailing.
Без Истинного Гуру, его обрести нельзя. Отступники так и остаются сетующими.
They bow not before the True Guru. In their heart is the goblin of wrath. |3|
Они не кланяются Истинному Гуру. В их сердцах есть домовой ярости.
God Himself is the relish of His Name, and He Himself is the Divine elixir.
Сам Бог – это вкус Своего Имени, и Он Сам – Божественный эликсир.
Showing His grace, God Himself gives the Name-Nectar to the various and trickles it into their mouths.
Показывая милость, Бог Сам даёт Имя-Нектар разным людям, и по каплям вливает его
в их уста.
Then, O Nanak! man's body and soul are all reverdured and that God lives within his mind.
Тогда, О Нанак! тело и душа человека полностью расцветают, и Бог живёт в его
разуме.
Sri Rag, Fourth Guru.
Шри Раг, Четвёртый Гуру.
The day dawns; then it sinks; and the whole night passes away.
Брезжит день; затем он оседает; и вся ночь уходит прочь.
The age diminishes, but the man understands not. The mouse of time is daily gnawing down the rope of life.
Возраст уменьшается, но человек не понимает. Рот времени ежедневно,больше и
больше, грызёт верёвку жизни.
Like sweet molasses is spread the mammon, and clinging there to - like a fly - an apostate pines and putrefies. |1|
Как сладкая сахарная патока простираетстя мамона, и цепляясь за неё - как муха -
отступник изнемогает и сгнивает.
O brother! Lord is my Friend and Comrade.
О брат! Господь является моим Другом и Товарищем.
The love of sons and wife is poison. In the end none becomes mortals helper. |1| «Pause»
Любовь к сыновьям и жене – это яд. В конце жизни никто не сможет стать
помощником смертного. «Пауза»
Under Guru's instruction men are emancipated by embracing love for God and by
seeking Lord's sanctuary they remain detached from the world.
Под руководством Гуру, люди, обнимая любовь к Богу, освобождаются и, ищя убежище
Господа, остаются разъединёнными с миром.

They ever keep death before their eyes, amass the viaticum of God's Name and receive honour.
Они всегда помнят о своей смерти, собирают напутствия Имени Божьего и получают
честь.
Guru-Beloveds are honoured in Lord's Court. God Himself takes them in His embrace. |2|
Возлюбленные Гуру получают честь при Дворе Господа. Сам Бог берёт их в Свои
объятия.
For the holy, the way to God is manifest. At Lord's door they face no obstruction.
Для святых людей путь к Богу становится явным. У двери Господа они не встречают
препятствий.
They praise Lord's Name, keep the Name in mind and remain attached with the Name's love.
Они славославят Имя Господа, хранят Имя в своём разуме и остаются соединёнными с
любовью Имени.
The unstruck music plays for them at God's Gate and they receive honour in the True Court. |3|
Безударная музыка играет для них при Вратáх Божьих, и они получают честь при
Истинном Дворе.
They, who have praised the Name through the Guru, them everyone applauds.
Тем, которые благодаря Гуру славославили Имя, аплодируют все.
Grant me their association, O my Lord! I am a beggar of Thine, who makes this supplication.
Пожалуй мне общение с ними, О мой Господь! Я – Твой нищий, подающий это
прошение.
Great is the luck of the pious persons, O Nanak! within whose heart is the Light of God's Name. |4|33|31|6|70|
Велика удача тех добродетельных людей, О Нанак! в сердцах которых есть Свет
Имени Божьего.
Sri Rag, Fourth Guru.
Шри Раг, Четвёртый Гуру.
Why art thou intoxicated by beholding thy son and bedecked wife?
Зачем же ты упоён, созерцая своего сына и свою украшенную жену?
Thou enjoyest delicacies, makest merry and indulgest in infinite pleasures;
Ты наслаждаешься деликатесами, забавляешься и предаёшься бесконечным
удовольствиям;
Thou givest many commands and actest haughtily.
Ты отдаёшь много приказов и действуешь надменно.
The blind, idiotic, perverse person thinks not of the Creator. |1|
Слепой, гнусный, превратный человек не думает о Творце.
O my soul! God is the giver of peace.
О моя душа! Бог дарует покой.
It is through Guru's grace that God is obtained. It is the good luck that thou gettest Him. |1|«Pause»
Это по милости Гуру мы обретаем Бога. По великому счастью мы Его достигаем.

Man is entangled in the enjoyments of clothes and viands, the gold and silver which are but dust.
Человек запутывается в наслаждениях одеждой и пищей, золотом и серебром, которые
являются лишь прахом.
He has horses and elephants of many types and amasses untiring carriages.
Он имеет много разновидностей лощадей и слонов, и собирает бесчисленное
количество карет.
He remembers none else and has forgotten all his kith and kin.
Он не помнит никого другого и забыл обо всех своих близких и родных.
He has grown oblivious of the Creator and is impure sans God's Name. |2|
Он забыл Творца и, без Имени Божьего, стал порочным.
Thou earnest evil imprecation and amassest wealth.
Ты зарабатываешь зловещие проклятия и собираешь богатство.
He, whom thou pleaseth, is perishable along with thee.
Тот, кого ты удовлетворяешь, он вместе с тобой является бренным.
O proud man! Thou takest pride and art engrossed in thy mind's intellect.
О гордый человек! Ты гордишься, и ты полностью поглощён интеллектом своего
разума.
He, whom the Lord Himself has put on the wrong track, has no caste and no honour. |3|
Тот, кого Сам Господь направил по неправильному пути, не имеет ни касты, ни
чести.
The Divine True Guru has caused me to meet that Lord, the only Friend of mine.
Небесный, Истинный Гуру причинил меня встретиться с Господом, с моим
единственнымо Другом.
The one Lord is the Saviour of His slave. Why should a haughty man bewail in pride?
Один Господь является Спасителем Своего раба. Зачем высокомерный человек скорбит
в своей гордости?
God does that what His Saint wishes. No request of his is turned down from the God's Court.
Бог делает то, что желает Его Святой. Никакая его просьба не отвергается Двором
Бога.
Nanak is imbued with love of God, whose light is pervading the entire Universe. |4|1|71|
Нанак насыщен любовью к Богу, свет которого распространяется по всей Вселенной.
Sri Rag, Fourth Guru.
Шри Раг, Четвёртый Гуру.
Man's mind is gone astray in recreations, deep and varied amusements, and the pleasure of eye-sight.
Разум человека заблудился в развлечениях, глубоких и разнообразных увеселениях и
в зрительных наслаждениях.
Even umbrellaed emperors are involved in anxiety. |1|
Однако даже императоры, сидящие под зонтиками, заключены в беспокойство.
O brother! I gathered peace in the society of Saints.
О брат! Я накопил покой в обществе Святых.
That Lord, the destiny Scribe, wrote such a writ, and my anguish and anxiety are annulled. |1| «Pause»
Тот Господь, написавший судьбу, написал такой приказ, и теперь мои мучения и
беспокойства аннулированы. «Пауза»
I have wandered through as many places as there are.
Я прошёл через столько мест, сколько их существует.
The masters of wealth and big landlords have fallen crying: This is mine; this is mine! |2|
Мастерá богатства и важные собственники недвижимости упали, плача: «Это моё; это
моё!»
They issue commands fearlessly and act in pride.
Они неустрашимо отдают приказы и действуют с гордостью.
They have subdued all, but without Lord's Name they mix with dust. |3|
Они завоевали всё, но без Имени Господа они будут смешаны с прахом.
The monarch at whose door stood servants, thirty three millions of gods and Siddhas and Sadhus,
Монарх, у чьей двери стояли слуги, 33 миллиона божеств, и Сидхи и Садху,
And who ruled over mountains, oceans and empires, O Nanak! all this vanishes like a dream. |4|2|72|
И который управлял горами, океанами и империями, О Нанак! всё это, как сон,
исчезает.

Sri Rag, Fifth Guru.
Шри Раг, Пятый Гуру.
Arising each day, the man cherishes his body, but without understanding the Lord, he is idiot and ignorant.
Вставая каждый день, человек лееит своё тело, но без понимания Господа, он –
идиот, и остаётся невежественным.
That Lord he remembers not; his body shall be forsaken in wilderness.
Он не помнит Господа; его тело будет покинуто в пустыне.
Attach the mind with the True Guru and enjoy bliss for ever and aye. |1|
Прикрепи свой разум к Истинному Гуру и вовеки веков наслаждайся блаженством.
O mortal! thou come to earn profit.
О смертный! ты пришёл заработать прибыль.
With what useless task art thou engaged? Thy entire Night is coming to an end. |1|«Pause»
А каким бесполезным делом ты занят? Вся твоя Ночь подходит к концу. «Пауза»
The animals and birds frisk about and behold not death.
Животные и птицы прыгают вокруг и не видят смерти.
With them is also the man who is ensnared in the net of mammon.
Вместе с ними также и человек пойман в ловушку сети мамоны.
They alone, who contemplate over the True Name, are considered to be emancipated. |2|
Лишь те, которые медитируют на Истинное Имя, считаются освобождёными.
That house which is to be abandoned and vacated, that is attached to the mind.
К тому дому, который нужно будет освободить и покинуть, твой разум привязан.
Thou hast no anxiety regarding the one where thee hast to go and dwell.
Но у тебя нет беспокойства по отношению того дома, в который ты должен пойти и
там жить.
They, who fall at Guru's feet, are freed of the bondage. |3|
Те, которые падают к ногам Гуру, освобождаются от рабства.
No one can save without the Guru; I see none else.
Без Гуру никто не может тебя спасти; я не вижу никого другого.
I have searched the four directions and have come and entered Guru's sanctuary.
Я искал в четырёх направлениях и пришёл, и вошёл в святилище Гуру.
I was drowning, but the True King has saved me, O Nanak! |4|3|73|
Я тонул, но Истинный Король меня спас, О Нанак!
Sri Rag, Fifth Guru.
Шри Раг, Пятый Гуру.
Man is a guest for a trice and moment in this world to set aright his affairs.
Человек, на миг и на мгновение, приходит в этот мир как гость, чтобы наладить
свои дела.
But the ignorant man understands not and is engrossed in wealth and lust.
Но невежественный человек этого не понимает и полностью поглощается богатством и
вожделением.
He arises and departs repentantly and falls into the clutches of Death myrmidon. |1|
Сожалея он поднимается и уходит, и падает в объятия мирмидона Смерти.
O blind! Thou art sitting close to the falling shore of the river.
О слепой! Ты сидишь близко к спадающему берегу реки.
If thou art so predestined, then act up to Guru's mandate. |1| «Pause»
Если тебе так предназначено, тогда действуй по повелению Гуру. «Пауза»
The Reaper neither sees unripe, nor half-ripe, nor ripe.
Жнец не видит ни незрелых, ни наполовину зрелых, ни зрелых.
Having made preparation, seizing and taking their sickles the croppers arrive.
Сделав свои приготовления, хватая и беря свои серпы, жнецы прибывают.
When the Landlord's order is issued then the field-crop reaped and measured. |2|
Когда отдаётся приказ Землевладельца, тогда урожай поля собирается и измеряется.
The first watch of the night passes in worthless affairs and during the second mortal sleeps to his fill.
Первый караул ночи проходит в бесполезных делах, а в течении второго – смертный
спит до предела.
In the third he prates nonsensically and in the fourth the day of death breaks.
В третьем он бессмысленно болтает, а в четвёртом приходит рассвет дня его
смерти.
He, who gave him soul and body, never enters his mind. |3|
Тот, кто дал ему душу и тело, никогда не входит в его разум.
I am devoted unto, and sacrifice my very life to the congregation of the righteous,
Я предан и приношу в жертву саму свою жизнь обществу праведных,
Through whom, understanding has entered my mind, and I have met the omniscient Lord.
Благодаря которым в мой разум вошло понимание и я встретил всеведущего Господа.
Nanak sees ever with him the wise Lord, the Knower of the hearts. |4|4|74|
Нанак всегда видит с собою мудрого Господа, Знатока сердец.
Sri Rag, Fifth Guru.
Шри Раг, Пятый Гуру.
Let me forget everything, but forget not the one Lord!
Пусть я забуду всё, но не забуду единственного Господа!
Having burnt all the profane pursuits, the Guru blessed me with God's Name, the true aim of life.
Гуру сжёг все мои нечестивые стремления и благословил меня Именем Божьим –
истинной целью жизни.
Giving up all other hopes, repose only in one hope of God.
Оставив все остальные надежды, покойся лишь в одной надежде Бога.
They, who serve the True Guru, secure a place in the yonder world. |1|
Те, которые служат Истинному Гуру, обеспечивают себе место в последующем мире.
O mind! Do thou praise the Creator!
О разум! Да славославь жеТворца!
Eschew all thy cleverness and fall at the feet of the Guru. |1| «Pause»
Воздержись от всех своих ухищрений и упади в ноги Гуру. «Пауза»
Pain and hunger shall oppress thee not if God, the Giver of peace, be in thy mind.
Боль и голод тебя обременять не будут, если Бог – дарующий покоя, будет в твоём
разуме.
If that True Lord abides within man's mind, he fails in no undertaking of his.
Если тот Истинный Господь пребывает в разуме человека, тогда он не терпит
неудачи ни в одном из своих предприятий.
He, whom Thou, O Lord! protect by giving Thine Hand, him none can slay.
Того, кому Ты, О Господь! покровительствуешь, давая ему Свою Руку, никто не
может его умертвить.
Wait upon Guru, the Giver of peace, and He shall wash off all thy sins. |2|
Прислуживай Гуру, дарующему покой, и Он смоет все твои грехи.
Thy servant asks for the service of those, whom Thou, O Lord! hast put to Thine service.
Твой слуга просит служить тем, которых Ты, О Господь! поставил к Себе на службу.

The association and the arduous service of Saints are obtained if the Lord be mightily pleased.
Общество Святых и трудную для них службу можно обрести если Господь весьма
доволен.
Everything is in the power of the Master. He Himself is the doer of deeds.
Всё находится во власти Мастера. Он Сам является совершающим поступков.
I am a sacrifice unto my True Guru, who fulfils all my aspirations. |3|
Я приношу себя в жертву моему Истинному Гуру, который осуществляет все мои
желания.
The unique Lord is seen to be my well-wisher, and He alone is my brother and friend.
Уникальный Господь – мой доброжелатель, и Он единственный является моим братом и
другом.
All the goods are of the one Lord and He alone has bound everything in system.
Весь товар исходит от одного Господа, и Он Сам объединил всё в систему.
With one God my soul is propitiated; it is then my mind is rendered stable.
С единственным Богом моя душа умилостивлена, и тогда мой разум становится
устойчивым.
The True Name is Nanak's viand; True Name - his raiment; and the True Name he has made his prop. |4|5|75|
Истинное Имя является пищей Нанака; Истинное Имя – это его одеяние; и Истинное
Имя он сделал своей подпорой.
Sri Rag, Fifth Guru.
Шри Раг, Пятый Гуру.
I receive all the commodities if Him alone I obtain.
Я получу все товары, если обрету Его одного.
The invaluable human life becomes fruitful if the True Name be repeated.
Бесценная человеческая жизнь становится плодотворной, если человек повторяет
Истинное Имя.
He, whose brow bears such a writ, obtains Lords presence through the Guru. |1|
Тот, на челе которого есть такой указ, обретает присутствие Господа благодаря
Гуру.
O my soul! Fix thy attention with the one Lord.
О моя душа! Фиксируй своё внимание на единственном Господе.
Without the Оne all else is but an entanglement. The love of mammon is all false. |1| «Pause»
Без Него – всё остальное это лишь замешательство. Любовь мамоны полностью
фальшива. «Пауза»
If the True Guru casts His merciful glance, I enjoy the happiness of lakhs of empires.
Если Истинный Гуру бросает Свой милосердный взгляд, тогда я наслаждаюсь счастьем
сотен тысяч империй.
Were He to bless me with His Name even for a trice, my soul and body will become cool.
Если бы Он благословил меня Своим Именем даже на мгновение, тогда мои душа и
тело охладились бы.
They, who are so preordained, hold fast the Feet of the True Guru. |2|
Те, кому так предопределено, крепко держатся за Ноги Истинного Гуру.
Fruitful is the moment and fruitful the time when love for the True Lord is embraced.
Плодороден тот момент, также как и плодородно то время, когда мы обнимаем любовь
к Истинному Господу.
Suffering and sorrow do not touch him, who has the support of God's Name.
Страдания и печаль не трогают того, который имеет поддержку Имени Божьего.
Whom the Guru takes out, seizing by the arm, he crosses the Sea of Life. |3|
Тот, кого Гуру вытаскивает, хватая его за руку, пересекает Море Жизни.
Embellished and immaculate is the place where the Saints' congregation is held.
Украшено и беспорочно то место, где собираются Святые.
He alone, who has found the perfect Guru, obtains the place of protection.
Только тот, кто нашёл совершенного Гуру, достигает места защиты.
Nanak has founded his house on that ground where there is no death, birth and old age. |4|6|76|
Нанак основал свой дом на такой территории, где нет смерти, рождения и старости.
Sri Rag, Fifth Guru.
Шри Раг, Пятый Гуру.
O my soul! meditate on Him who is the Over-Lord of kings and emperors.
О моя душа! медитируй на того, кто является Наивысшим Господом королей и
императоров.
My mind! repose hope in Him alone, in whom all have confidence.
Мой разум! полагайся только на того, кому доверяют все.
Shed all thy clevernesses and take to the Feet of the Guru.||1|
Сбрось все свои ухищрения и направляйся к Ногам Гуру.
My soul! with ease and calmness dwell upon God's Name.
Моя душа! с лёгкостью и спокойствием концентрируйся на Имени Божьем.
Through the eight watches of the day, do thou think of the Lord and ever sing the praises of the world illuminator. |1| «Pause»
В течение 8-ми караулов дня, думай же о Господе и всегда пой похвалы освещающему
мир. «Пауза»
Seek His shelter, O soul! whom none equals in greatness;
Ищи приюта у Того, О душа! с величием которого никто не может сравниться;
By remembering whom great peace is obtained, and pain and distress absolutely touch not.
Помня которого ты обретёшь великий покой, и боль и горе совсем до тебя не
дотронутся.
Ever and for ever more perform the service of that True Lord Master. |2|
Вовеки веков выполняй службу тому Истинному Господу Мастеру.
In the society of Saints the mortal becomes pure and the noose of death is cut.
В обществе Святых смертный становится безупречным, и петля его смерти срезается.
Make supplication before Him who is the Bestower of bliss and the Destroyer of dread.
Подай прошение Тому, кто является Дарующим блаженства и Истребителем боязни.
He, to whom the merciful Master shows His mercy, has his affairs adjusted forth with. |3|
Все дела того, к кому милостливый Мастер проявляет Свою милость, улаживаются.
The Lord is spoken of as the greatest of the great and His seat the highest of the high.
О Господе говорят как о величайшем из великих, а о Его троне – как о наивысшем
из высших.
God is without colour and mark. I cannot appraise His worth.
Бог не имеет ни цвета, ни пометки. Я не могу оценить Его.
Have mercy on Nanak, O Lord! and bless him with Thy True Name. |4|7|77|
Смилуйся над Нанаком, О Господь! и благослови его Своим Истинным Именем.
Sri Rag, Fifth Guru.
Шри Раг, Пятый Гуру.
He, who meditates on the Name, is happy; his face becomes bright.
Тот, кто медитирует на Имя, счастлив; его лицо становится ясным.
He, who obtains the Name from the perfect Guru, becomes renowned all the world over.
Тот, кто обретает Имя от совершенного Гуру, становится известным во всём мире.
That unique True Lord abides in the society of the Saints.
Этот уникальный, Истинный Господь пребывает в обществе Святых.

My mind! contemplate the Lord God's Name.
Мой разум! медитируй на Имя Господа Бога.
The Name, thy helper, is ever with thee and shall save thee hereafter. |1| «Pause»
Имя – твой помощник – всегда находится с тобою и спасёт тебя в потустороннем
мире. «Пауза»
Of what avail is the greatness of the world,
Какова выгода величия мира,
When colour of worldly valuables is all fading? It shall disappear, O thoughtless fellow!
Если цвет мирских драгоценностей полностью поблекнет? Он исчезнет, О
безрассудный собрат!
Perfect and supreme is he, in whose heart God abides. |2|
Совершенный и наивысший – это тот, в чьём сердце пребывает Бог.
Be thou dust of Saints Feet and renounce thy self-conceit.

судьба.
He, whom the Lord Himself gives, obtains the Name, O brethren!
Тот, кому Сам Господь даёт, обретает Имя, О братья!
He alone performs the service of the True Guru, who is rid of the affliction of ego.
Лишь тот выполняет службу Истинного Гуру, кто избавился от болезни эго.
The Guru has met Nanak and so all his sufferings are at an end. |4|8|78|

One Lord is the knower of man and He alone is his Saviour.
Единственный Господь знает человека, и Он один – его Спаситель.
He alone is the mind's support and He alone the mainstay of life.
Только Он является поддержкой разума, и только Он – это главная опора жизни.
In His refuge is all peace. He is the Exalted Lord, the Creator. |1|
В Его убежище есть весь покой. Он – Высокопоставленный Господь, Творец.
O my mind! give up all efforts.
О мой разум! оставь все усилия.
Each day think of the perfect Guru and embrace affection for the one Lord. |1| «Pause»
Каждый день думай о совершенном Гуру и обними любовь к единственному Господу.

The one Lord is the brother; the one is the real friend, and the one - my mother and father.
Единственный Господь – мой брат; Он – настоящий друг; и Он – мои мама и папа.
Within my mind is the support of the unique Lord, who has given me the soul and the body.
В моём разуме есть поддержка уникального Господа, который дал мне душу и тело.
The Lord, who holds everything in His power, I may not forget Him within my mind. |2|
Я не могу забытьу своим разумом Господа, который держит в Своей власти всё.
The one Lord is within home of thy body and the One - without. He Himself is found within all the places.
Единственный Господь находится внутри дома твоего тела, и Он – извне. Его Самого
можно найти внутри всего.
Day in and day out, meditate on Him, who has made all the humans and other beings.
Изо дня в день медитируй на Того, кто сотворил всех людей и все другие существа.
By being imbued with the love of one God, sorrow and repentance visit man not. |3|
Когда человек пропитан любовью одного Господа, тогда печаль и сожаление его не
посещают.
There is but one Supreme Lord Master. There is no other.
Есть только один Наивысший Господь Мастер. Нет никого другого.
The soul and body are all His; whatever pleases Him that comes to pass.
Душа и тело – полностью Его; что бы ни доставляло Ему удовольствие, то и
происходит.
Through the accomplished Guru the mortal becomes perfect by meditating on that True Lord. |4|9|79|

Perfect and supreme are they, who fix their mind with the True Guru.

The Divine knowledge sprouts within the mind of those, unto whom the Lord Himself becomes kind.
Небесное знание пускает ростки в разуме тех, к кому Сам Господь проявляет
благосклонность.
They, who bear such a writ on their brow, receive God's Name. |1|

My mind! Do thou meditate on the one Name.

Thus shall spring the happiness of all the happiness and thou shalt go to God's Court, clad in robes of honour. |1|«Pause»

By performing the devotional service of the World-Cherisher, the fear of birth and death is removed.

Man becomes pure in the society of the Guru, and the Lord Himself nurtures him.
Человек становится безупречным в обществе Гуру, и Сам Господь его питает.
By beholding the Light of the Guru, man is extremely delighted, and his filth of coming and going is washed off. |2|
Созерцая Свет Гуру, человек приходит в восторг, и грязь его перевоплощений
смывается прочь.
That illimitable Lord is found in all the places.
Этот беспредельный Господь находится во всех местах.
God alone is the bestower of all. There is no other second.

By seeking His sanctuary man is saved. What Lord wishes to do that comes to pass. |3|

Perfect and supreme are they in whose heart the Exalted Lord dwells.

Pure is their reputation, which is obvious all the world over.

They, who have meditated on my Lord, Nanak is a sacrifice unto them.

On meeting the True Guru all my affliction is over, and Divine peace has come and acquired an abode within my mind.
Повстречав Истинного Гуру, вся моя печаль прошла, и Божественный покой прибыл и
приобрёл жилище в моём разуме.
By enshrining love for one Lord, my heart is illumined with Diving Light.
Поместив на алтарь любовь к единственному Господу, моё сердце осветилось
Божественным Светом.
By meeting the Guru my face has become clean and I have received what was pre-ordained for me.
Повстречав Гуру, моё лицо стало чистым, и я получил то, что было для меня
предназначено.
By ever singing the praises of the Lord of the Universe and the True Name, I have become blotless. |1|
Всегда воспевая похвалы Господу Вселенной и Истинному Имени, я стал
незапятнанным.
Through Guru's Word, O my mind! the man obtains peace.
Через Слово Гуру, О мой разум! человек обретает покой.
By performing the service of the perfect Guru, none goes empty handed. |1|«Pause»
Служа совершенному Гуру, никто не идёт с пустыми руками. «Пауза»
The mind's desires are fulfilled, when man finds the treasure of the Name.
Желания разума исполняются, когда человек находит сокровище Имени.
The knower of hearts is ever with thee. Do thou realise Him, the Creator.
Знаток сердец всегда с тобою. Так реализуй Его – Творца.
By Guru's grace the face becomes clean. Giving of alms and bathing at shrines are included in the Name's meditation.
По милости Гуру, лицо становится чистым. Давать подаяние и совершать омовение
при алтаре – это включено в медитацию на Имя.
Their all ego is abandoned and their lust, wrath and avarice are also eliminated. |2|
Тогда эго будет полностью покинуто, а похоть, гнев и скупость также исчезнут.
I have earned the gain and profit of God's Name and mine affairs stand adjusted.
Я заработал выгоду и прибыль Имени Божьего, и все мои дела теперь улажены.
By His grace the Lord has given me His Name and united me with Himself.
По Своей милости Господь даровал мне Своё имя и соединил меня с Самим Собою.
The Lord Himself has become merciful, and my coming and going have ceased.
Сам Господь стал милостливым, и мои приходы и уходы закончились.
By relishing the Guru's Word, I have obtained an abode in the True Mansion. |3|
Наслаждаясь Словом Гуру, я обрёл жилище в Истинном Дворце.
Showering His benediction, the Lord protects pious persons.
Изливая Свои благословения, Господь покровительствует набожным людям.
In this world and the next, radiant become the faces of those, who heartily remember the excellences of the True Lord.
В этом мире и в последующем лучезарными становятся лица тех, которые сердечно
помнят превосходства Истинного Господа.
Throughout the eight watches of the day, they deliberate over God's attributes and are imbued with His infinite love.
24-е часа в день они размышляют о свойственных чертах Бога и остаются
пропитанными Его бесконечной любовью.
Nanak is ever a sacrifice unto the Supreme Lord, the Ocean of Comfort. |4|11|81|

If we meet the perfect Guru, we obtain the Name Treasure.

My Master! Show Thine mercy, so that we may meditate on the ambrosial Name.
Мой Мастер! Прояви Свою милость, так чтобы мы медитировали на благоухающеее
амброзией Имя.
Thus the agony of birth and death is annulled, and our attention gets easily fixed on the Lord.
Таким образом агония рождения и смерти будет аннулирована, а наше внимание с
лёгкрстью зафиксируется на Господе.
Seek thou the sanctuary of the Lord, O my mind!
Ищи же убежище Господа, О мой разум!
Beside God, there is no other second. On His Name alone, do thou meditate. |1| «Pause»

His worth cannot be told. He is an unfathomable Ocean of excellences.

Meeting with the society of Saints, O very lucky fellow! purchase thou the True Name.

Имя.
Perform thou the service of the Ocean of solace. He is the Over-Lord of the kings and emperors. |2|
Выполняй службу Океану утешения. Он является Наивысшим Господом королей и

I have the sport of Lords Lotus Feet and know of no other place.
Я имею забаву Лотусовых Ног Господа и не знаю никакого другого места.
I lean on Thy prop, O my Limitless Lord! and live by Thine might.
Я опираюсь на Твою подпору, О мой Безграничный Господь! и живу благодаря Твоей
мощи.
Of the dishonoured, Thou art the honour, O Lord! I seek to blend with Thee. |3|
Из тех, кто обесчестен, Ты являешься их честью, О Господь! Я ищу то, чтобы
слиться с Тобою.
Throughout twenty-four hours ponder and contemplate over God, the world-sustainer.
В течение 24-х часов размышляй о Боге и созерцай Бога, поддерживающего мир.
He preserves man's soul, body and wealth, and mercifully protects his very life.
Он оберегает душу человека, его тело и богатство, и милостливо охраняет саму его
жизнь.
Thou, Lofty Lord Master, is man's pardoner. He washes off all his sins, O Nanak! |4|12|82|
Ты, Величавый Господь Мастер – тот, кто даёт прощение человеку. Он смывает все

I have contracted love with that True Lord! He dies, comes and goes not.
Я помолвлен любовью с тем Истинным Господом! Он не умирает, не приходит и не

By separating, He separates not, and is contained amongst all.
Разлучаясь, Он не разлучается, и находится среди всех.
Of the meek He is the remover of pang and affliction, and to His slave He bears true love.
Для кротких, Он является убирающим мучения и бедствия, а для Своего раба Он
имеет истинную любовь.
Wondrous is the form of the Immaculate One. The Guru has caused me to meet Him, O my mother! |1|

O brother! make that Lord thy friend.

Accursed is the love and attachment of wealth; with it none is seen at ease. |1| «Pause»

The Lord is wise, beneficent, tender hearted, pure, beautiful and infinite.
Господь – мудрый, благодетельный, мягкосердечный, безупречный, прекрасный и
бесконечный.
He is the companion, helper, exceedingly exalted, lofty, great and illimitable.
Он – компаньон, помощник, чрезвычайно благородный, возвышенный, великий и
безграничный.
He is not known as young or old. Ever stable is His Court.
Он и не молод, и не стар. Всегда устойчив Его Двор.
We obtain that, what we beg of Him. He is the Support of the support-less. |2|
Мы обретаем то, что мы у Него просим. Он – это поддержка тех, у кого поддержки
нет.
By seeing the Lord, the soul and body are rendered peaceful.
Увидя Господа, душа и тело становятся спокойными.
With single-mind meditation on one Lord, mind's misgiving is dispelled.
С медитацией едино-направленного разума на единственного Господа, опасения
разума рассеиваются.
He is the treasury of excellences, and ever fresh is His body, and complete His gift.
Он – это казна превосходств; Его тело всегда свежее; а Его дар– всецелый.
For ever and aye meditate on God. Forget Him not by day and night. |3|
Вовеки веков медитируй на Бога. Не забывай Его ни днём, ни ночью.
The Lord of the Universe is the comrade of those, who are so predestined.
Господь Вселенной является товарищем тех, которым так предопределено.
Unto Him I dedicate my body, mind, wealth and all, and this very life of mine - I all sacrifice to Him.
Ему я посвящаю свои тело, разум, богатство и всё, и саму свою жизнь – я всё
приношу Ему в жертву.
Pervading God ever sees, hears and is just near; He resides in every heart.
Всепроникающий Бог всегда видит, слышит и находится прямо рядом; Он пребывает в
каждом сердце.
The Lord maintains even the ungrateful. He is ever the pardoner, O Nanak! |4|13|83|
Господь поддерживает даже неблагодарных. Он – всегда прощающий, О Нанак!

This mind, body and wealth were given by God, who naturally adorns us.
Эти разум, тело и богатство были даны Богом, который естественно нас украшает.
He has blessed us with all our energy, and infused His infinite Light deep within us.
Он благословил нас всей нашей энергией, и глубоко влил в нас Свой безграничный
Свет.
Ever and ever meditate upon, and keep clasped to thy heart and mind, the Lord Master. |1|
Всегда и навеки медитируй на Господа Мастера, и прижмай Его к своему сердцу и
разуму.
O my soul! There is no other than God.
О моя душа! Нет никого другого кроме Бога.
Ever remain under Lord's protection and no affliction shall overtake thee. |1| «Pause»
Всегда оставайся под защитой Господа, и тебя не настигнет никакое несчастье.

The jewels, wealth, pearls, gold and silver are all dust.
Драгоценные камни, богатство, жемчуг, золото и серебро – это пыль.
The mother, father, sons and kins are all false relations.
Мать, отец, сыновья и родня – все они ложные родственники.
The perverse and impious beast understands not Him, who created him. |2|
Превратный и нечестивый зверь не понимает Того, кто его сотворил.
Who is pervading within and without, Him he deems to be distant.
Того, кто проникает через всё внутри и снаружи, Его он считает отдалённым.
The desire is clinging to him and his heart is engrossed in pride and falsehood.
Желания цепляются за него, и его сердце поглощено гордостью и ложью.
Crowds of mortals without devotion and the Name of God, continue coming and going. |3|
Толпы смертных без преданности и без Имени Божьего, продолжают приходить и
уходить.
O Lord! the Creator, mercifully preserve man and the other creatures.
О Господь! Творец, милостливо сохрани человека и другие существа.
There is no protector but one Lord. Very unfeeling is Death's myrmidon.
Нет другого покровителя кроме единого Господа. Мирмидон Смерти очень
бесчувственный.
O Nanak, show Thine mercy unto me, O God! so that I may not forget Thy Name. |4|14|84|
О Нанак, покажи мне Свою милость, О Бог! так чтобы я не забыл Твоё Имя.

The man says: I have the beauteous body; mine is the wealth; and empire and country are exclusively mine.
Человек говорит: «Я имею прекрасное тело; богатство – моё; и империя и страна –
исключительно мои».
He may have sons, wife, many mistresses and may enjoy myriad of pleasures and raiments,
Он может имеет сыновей, жену, много недозволенных женщин, и он может
наслаждается несметным количеством удовольствий и одежды,
If God's Name abides not within his mind, they are of no avail and account. |1|
Но если Имя Божие не пребывает в его разуме, то всё это бесполезно и маловажно.
O my soul! contemplate over the Name of Lord Guru.
О моя душа! созерцай Имя Господа Гуру.
Ever associate with the society of Saints and fix thy mind on Guru's Feet. |1| «Pause»
Всегда общайся с обществом Святых и фиксируй свой разум на Ногах Гуру. «Пауза»
If good luck be recorded on the forehead, only then does man meditate on the Name-Treasure.
Если хорошая судьба написана на челе человека, то лишь тогда он медитирует на
Сокровище Имени.
By being attached with Guru's Feet, all the affairs become right.
Когда он соединён с Ногами Гуру, все его дела улаживаются.
Thus are annulled the aliment of ego and scepticism, and the mortal neither comes nor goes. |2|
И так, аннулируется болезнь эго и скептицизм, и смертный больше не приходит и не
уходит.
Mix thou with the Saints' congregation and deem that thy ablution at the sixty-eight places of pilgrimage.
Общайся же со Святым и считай, что это твоё омовение в 68-ми местах
паломничества.
Like this, thy soul, very life, mind and body shall be reverdured, and this is the true aim of life.
Таким образом твоя душа, сама жизнь, разум и тело снова расцветут, а это –
истинная цель жизни.

Thou shalt gain glory here and obtain room in the next world. |3|
Ты обретёшь славу здесь, а также и место в последующем мире.
The Lord Himself does and causes others to do. Everything is in His Hands.
Сам Господь делает и причиняет других делать. Всё находится в Его Руках.
He Himself slays and revives. Within and without He is with the mortal.
Он Сам умертвляет и оживляет. Внутри и снаружи Он находится со смертным.
Nanak seeks the sanctuary of the Lord, who is the Master of all the bodies. |4|15|85|
Нанак ищет убежище Господа, который является Мастером всех тел.

They, unto whom the Guru becomes merciful, seek their Lord's protection.

By the instruction of the True Guru all the worldly entanglements are annulled.
Под руководством Истинного Гуру все мирские замешательства аннулируются.
The Name of the Omnipresent Lord has stuck in my mind, and His ambrosial glance has exalted me. |1|
Имя Вездесущего Господа прикрепилось к моему разуму, а Его благоухающий
амброзией взгляд, меня приподнял.
O my soul! take thou to the service of the True Guru.
О моя душа! берись же за службу Истинному Гуру.
Forget not the Lord even for an instant from thy mind. Then shall He shower His benediction on thee. «Pause»
Своим разумом, даже на мгновение, не забывай Господа. Тогда Он осыпет тебя

Ever sing the praises of the Lord of the Universe, who is the destroyer of demerits.

Without God's Name, peace ensues not. By making various ostentations I have verified this.
Без Имени Божьего, покоя нет. Совершив различные показные действия, я это
сверил.
By being tinged with the Lord's praises in equipoise the mortal crosses the world-ocean. |2|
Окрашенный похвалами Господу, в равновесии, смертный пересекает мир-океан.
The merit of lakhs of pilgrimages, fasting and restraints is found in the dust of Saints' Feet.
Заслуги сотен тысяч паломничеств, постов и ограничений, можно найти в пыли Ног
Святого.
From whom dost thou hide thine evil deeds, since the Lord is beholding thee?
От кого ты прячешь свои злобные действия, когда Господь тебя видит?
My fully filling Lord is pervading all the places. |3|
Мой Господь, полностью всё заполняющий, находится во всех местах.
True is His Empire; True - His fiat; and Truest of the true - His Seat.
Истинна Его Империя; Истинный – Его указ; и самый Истинный из истинных – Его
Трон.
True is the Omnipotence which He has created and True - the world that He has fashioned.
Истинно Его Всемогущество, которое Он создал, и истинным является мир, которому
Он придал очертания.
O Nanak, repeat the True Name, unto which I am for ever and ever a sacrifice. |4|16|86|
О Нанак, повторяй Истинное Имя, которому я всегда и навеки отдаю себя в жертву.

O ye very fortunate! make effort, meditate on God and earn the wealth of Name.

In the society of Saints, contemplate over God and wash off the filth of thine many births. |1|
В обществе Святых, созерцай Бога и смой грязь своих многочисленных рождений.
O my mind! take to the meditation of the Name of pervading God.
О мой разум! займись медитацией на Имя всепроникающего Бога.
Thou shalt enjoy the fruit of thy hearts desire, and thy sorrow and suffering shall all depart. «Pause»
Ты будешь наслаждаться плодами желания своего сердца, и твоё горе и страдания

I have seen with me the Lord, for seeking whom I assumed this body.
Я видел с собою Господа, для поисков которого я облёкся в это тело.
The Lord, who is pervading the water, earth and the space, beholdeth every one with Нis Grace. |2|
Господь, который проникает через воду, землю и пространство, созерцает всех
Своим взглядом Милости.
By enshrining affection for the True Lord, the soul and body become pure.
Храня в себе нежность к Истиному Господу, душа и тело становятся безупречными.
He who thinks of the Feet of Lofty Lord, he is deemed to have performed all the worships and austerities. |3|
Тот, кто думает о Ногах Величавого Господа, считается, что он совершил все
богослужения и практиковал все строгие дисциплины.
The Name of God is like the Nectar, the Gem, the Ruby and the Pearl.
Имя Бога – Оно такое как Нектар, Драгоценность, Рубин и Жемчужина.
By singing the praises of God, O slave Nanak! celestial beatitude, the essence of all the happiness is obtained. |4|17|87|

That is the religious book and that the good omen by which God's Name may be repeated.
Та книга – религиозная, и то предзнаменование – хорошее, которые помогают нам

The Guru has given me the wealth of Lord's Lotus Feet, and I, the shelter-less, have obtained a Shelter.
Гуру дал мне богатство Лотусовых Ног Господа, и я, не имеющий приюта, обрёл
Приют.
The true capital and true way of life consist in singing God's praises throughout the eight watches.
Истинный капитал и истинный путь жизни состоят в пении похвалы Богу в течение
8-ми караулов.
He, to whom the Lord shows mercy, meets Him. He then dies, comes and goes not. |1|
Тот, к кому Господь проявляет милость, встречается с Ним. Он тогда и не умирает,

O my soul! ever meditated thou on God with single minded affection.

How can I measure the extent of the happiness which ensues when I meditate on the Lord of the Universe?

The one who tastes the Name Nectar, gets satiated. His soul alone knows the relish of the Name Nectar.

Through the society of the Saints, the Beloved Lord - the Pardoner - abides in one's mind.
Благодаря обществу Святых, Возлюбленный Господь – Прощающий, пребывает в разуме.
He, who has served his Lord, is the emperor of kings of men. |2|
Тот, кто служил своему Господу, он – император королей среди людей.
This is the time to utter the praises and excellences of God, by doing which the
merit of taking myriad of baths and ablutions at shrines, is obtained.
Это и есть время для того, чтобы произносить похвалы Богу и превозносить Его, и
через это мы обретём заслуги несметного количества омовений и очищений при
алтарях.
The meritorious tongue repeats Lord's praises. No charity equals it.
Достойный награды язык повторяет похвалы Господу. Никакая благотворительность не
может с этим сравниться.
By casting His compassionate glance, the Kind, omnipotent and merciful Lord abides within man's mind and body.
Бросая Свой сострадательный взгляд, Король – всемогущий и милосливый Господь,
пребывает в разуме и теле человека.
My very life, body and wealth are His; I am ever and ever a sacrifice unto Him. |3|
Сама моя жизнь, тело и богатство – Его; я всегда и навсегда приношу себя Ему в

The united one, whom the Creator has united with Himself, never separates.
Тот, кого Творец соединил с Самим Собою, никогда с Ним не разлучается.
The True Maker has shattered the shackles of His attendants.
Истинный Творец в дребезги разбил оковы Ему прислуживающих.
Unheeding his merits and demerits, the Lord has put the erring on the right path.
Не обращая внимания на его заслуги и недостатки, Господь поставил заблудшего на
правильный путь.
Nanak seeks the sanctuary of Him, who is the support of all the hearts. |4|18|88|
Нанак ищет убежища у Того, кто является поддержкой всех сердец.

Repeat the True Name with thy tongue, so that thine mind and body may become pure.
При помощи своего языка повторяй Имя Истинное, так чтобы твои разум и тело стали
непорочными.
Thine mother and father and all your relations - without Him, there are none at all.
Твои мама и папа, и все твои родственники – без Него, вообще нет никого другого.
If the Lord shows His mercy, man forgets Him not even for a moment. |1|
Если Господь проявляет Свою милость, тогда человек не забывает Его даже на
мгновение.
O my mind! serve thou the True Lord till thou hast breath.
О мой разум! служи Истинному Господу до тех пор, пока у тебя есть дыхание.
Without the True One, all else is false and shall finally perish. |1| «Pause»
Без Истинного, всё остальное ложно, и в конце концов оно исчезнет. «Пауза»
My Master is pure. Without Him I cannot live.
Мой Мастер – безупречный. Без Него я не могу жить.
Without Him, in my soul and body is a very great hunger for God. Let someone come and unite me with Him, O my mother!
Без Него в моей душе и в теле есть очень сильный голод по Богу. Разреши
кому-нибудь прийти и соединить меня с Ним, О моя мама!
I have searched the four directions. Without the Spouse there is no other place of rest. |2|
Я искал в четырёх направлениях. Без Супруга – другого места отдыха нет.
Make supplication before the Guru, who may unite thee with the Creator.
Подай прошение Гуру, который может соединить тебя с Творцом.
The Giver of Name is the True Guru, whose treasure is brim-full.
Дарующий Имени – это Истинный Гуру; Его клад наполнен до краёв.
For ever and aye praise Him, whose limit and either end cannot be ascertained. |3|
Вовеки веков славославь Того, предел и оба конца которого, установить
невозможно.
Sing thou the praises of the Nurturer, whose wondrous plays are manifold.
Пой похвалы Питающему, чьи чудесные игры – многообразны.
Ever and ever meditate on God. This alone is the excellent wisdom.
Всегда, и навсегда, медитируй на Бога. Единственно это является превосходной
мудростью.
O Nanak, the Lord flavours sweet to the mind and body of him, who has good luck recorded on his brow. |4|19|89|
О Нанак, Господь даёт сладкий вкус разуму и телу того, на чьём челе написана
хорошая судьба.
Sri Rag, Fifth Guru.
Шри Раг, Пятый Гуру.
O brethren! meeting the society of the holy persons, deliberate over the True Name.
О брат! повстречав общество святых людей, рассуждай об Истинном Имени.
For thy soul, gather thou the viaticum of the True Name, which shall be with thee here and hereafter.
Для своей души ты собирай напутствия Истинного Имени, которое будет с тобою и
здесь и в потусторонем мире.
If the Lord looks with His favour, thou shalt obtain this from the perfect Guru.
Если Господь смотрит с благосклонностью, тогда ты обретёшь это от совершенного
Гуру.
He, unto whom God becomes merciful, becomes the recipient of His grace. |1|
Тот, к кому Бог проявляет милосердие, становится получающим Его милости.
My mind! None else is as great as the Guru.
Мой разум! Нет никого другого, такого великого как Гуру.
I can think of no other place. The Guru alone can cause me to meet that True Lord. |1| «Pause»
Я не могу думать ни об одном другом месте. Только Гуру может причинить меня
встретиться с тем Истинным Господом. «Пауза»
He, who goes and beholds the Guru, obtains all the valuables.
Тот, кто идёт и созерцает Гуру, обретает все ценности.
O mother! Exceedingly lucky are they, whose mind is attached with Guru's Feet.
О моя мама! Чрезвычайно счастливы те, разум которых прикреплён к Ногам Гуру.
The Guru is the Donor; the Guru - the Omnipotent Being; and the Guru is contained amongst all.
Гуру – Донор; Гуру – Всемогущий; и Гуру содержится среди всех.
The Guru is the Supreme Lord and the Transcendent Master. The Guru floats the drowning one. |2|
Гуру является Наивысшим Господом и, превышающим пределы понимания, Мастером.
Гуру держит утопающего на поверхности воды.
With what mouth should I eulogize the Guru, who is capable of doing everything?
Каким же ртом мне следует хвалить Гуру, который способен сделать всё?
Ever stable remain the brows of those, on whom the Guru has put His Hand.
Всегда остаются неизменными брови тех, на которых Гуру положил Свою руку.
The Guru has caused me to quaff ambrosial Name, the destroyer of birth and death.
Гуру причинил меня пить большими глотками благоухающий амброзией Нектар,
уничтожающий рождение и смерть.
I have served the Guru, the embodiment of Lord and the Dispeller of dread, and my agony is eliminated. |3|
Я служил Гуру – воплощению Господа и Разрушителю боязни, и моя агония исчезла.

The True Guru is the profound and unfathomable Ocean of peace and the Destroyer of sin.
Истинный Гуру – это глубокий и неизмеримый Океан покоя и Разрушитель греха.
He, who has served his Guru, for him there is no punishment of the Death's myrmidon.
Тот, кто служил своему Гуру, для него нет наказания мирмидона Смерти.
There is no one at par with the Guru. I have searched and seen the whole Universe.
Никто не может сравниться с Гуру. Я искал и видел всю Вселенную.
The True Guru has given the Name treasure, and Nanak has thereby enshrined solace in his mind. |4|20|90|

People eat what they believe to be sweet, but those turn out to be bitter in taste.
Люди что-то принимают в пищу веря, что оно сладкое, однако оно оказывается
горьким на вкус.
Absurd it is to contract affection with brothers and friends, and to be engrossed in sins.
Нелепо заключать договор нежности с братьями и друзьями, и быть поглощённым
грехами.
In vanishing they make no delay; without God's Name man is confounded in distress. |1|
Они не медлят с исчезновением; без Имени Божьего человек смешивается с горем.
O my soul! apply thyself to the True Guru's service.
О моя душа! приложи себя к службе Истинного Гуру.
Whatever is seen, that shall perish. Abandon thou, O man! thy mind's cleverness. |1| «Pause»
Что бы мы ни видели – оно исчезнет. Оставь же, О человек! ухищрения своего
разума. «Пауза»
As the rabid dog runs and wanders about in the ten directions,
Как бешеная собака бегает и скитается в десяти направлениях,
Similarly the greedy man heeds nothing and devours all what is eatable and not-eatable.
Так и жадный человек ни на что не обращает внимание и пожирает всё: съедобное и
несъедобное.
He, who is eatable in lust, anger and ego, takes birth again and again. |2|
Тот, кого съедает похоть, гнев и эго, рождается снова и снова.
Mammon has spread out its net and in it has placed the bait.
Мамона расставила свои сети, и в них она положила приманку.
The avaricious bird is snared and cannot escape, O my mother!
Скупая птица в них поймана и спастись не может, О моя мама!
Man knows not Him, who created him, and continues coming and going over and over again. |3|
Человек не знает Того, кто его создал, и продолжает приходить и уходить снова и
снова.
This world has been bewitched in various ways and good many devices.
Этот мир околдован различными путями и многочисленными средствами.
He, whom the Omnipotent and Infinite Lord protects, is saved.
Тот же, кому покровительствует Всемогущий и Бесконечный Господь, спасается.
Nanak is ever a sacrifice unto God's serfs, who are saved through God's affection. |4|21|91|
Нанак всегда приносит себя в жертву рабам Бога, которые спасаются благодаря
благосклонности Бога.

When a herdsman comes to the pasture land, of what avail is his making ostentatious displays over there?
Когда пастух приходит в поле для пастбища, какой смысл там в его хвастливых
действиях?
When the time allowed is completed, thou must depart. Do thou take care of thy real hearth and home. |1|
Когда дозволенное время заканчивается, ты должен уйти. Так позаботься же о своём
истинном очаге и доме.
O my mind! sing the excellences of God and serve the True Guru with love.
О мой разум! пой похвалы превосходствам Бога и с любовью служи Истинному Гуру.
Why takest thou pride on a trivial thing? |1| «Pause»
Зачем ты гордишься чем-то маловажным? «Пауза»
Like the night guest thou shalt be up to depart in the morn.
Как ночьной гость, ты всанешь, чтобы утром уйти.
Why art thou bewitched of thy household? Everything is short-lived like orchard flowers. |2|
Зачем же ты очарован своими домашними? Всё является краткосрочным, как и цветы
орхидеи.
Why sayest thou: This is mine, that is mine? Seek the Lord, who gave it to thee.
Почему ты говоришь: «Это моё, то моё»? Ищи Господа, который тебе это дал.
Thou must assuredly get up and depart, and leave behind a hundred thousand and millions. |3|
Ты действительно должен будешь подняться и уйти, и оставить позади свои сотни
тысяч и миллионы.
Having wandered through eighty four lakhs of existences, thou hast obtained the scarcely procurable human life.
Пройдя через 8 400 000 разновидностей существований, ты обрёл человеческую
жизнь, которую трудно достичь.
O Nanak, remember thou the Name, for that day of departure is drawing near. |4|22|92|
О Нанак, так помни же Имя, так как день ухода приближается.

As long as a soul - it's companion, is with the body, so long it lives happily.
До тех пор, пока душа – компаньон тела – находится с ним, ты живёшь счастливо.
When the comrade gets up and departs, then the body-bride mingles with dust. |1|
Когда же товарищ поднимается и уходит, тогда тело-невеста смешивается с прахом.
My mind has developed absence of worldly desires and has ambition to behold Lord's sight.
В моём разуме развилось отсутствие мирских желаний, и у него есть амбиция
созерцать Господа.
Blessed is that Seat of Thine! |1| «Pause»
Благословенен Твой Трон! «Пауза»
As long as the soul-spouse dwells in the house of the body, everyone says: "Sir, sire".
До тех пор, пока душа-супруг пребывает в доме тела, каждый говорит: «Господин,
господин».
When the soul-spouse shall get up and depart, no one shall care for thee then. |2|
Когда же душа-супруг поднимается и уходит, никто тогда не будет о тебе
заботиться.
In parents home (this world) do thou serve thy Bridegroom and abide in peace in thy father-in-laws (the next world).
В доме родителей (этом мире) служи же своему Жениху и пребывай в покое в доме
тестя (последующем мире).
By meeting the Guru, learn discretion and pious conduct, and sorrow shall never befall thee. |3|
Встретившись с Гуру, научись благоразумию и благочестивому поведению, и с тобой
никогда не приключится горе.
All shall go to their Bridegrooms and all shall have ceremonial permanent departure after marriage.
Все пойдут к своему Жениху, а после свадьбы они пройдут через обрядный,
неизменный отъезд.
